Tracey King is a Chartered Compliance and Financial Crime professional with over 25 years of experience advising and leading regulated financial services firms in the UK and internationally. She has held senior executive and advisory roles across banking, fintech, payments, consumer credit, investment, and crypto-asset businesses.
Ms. King has extensive experience assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of regulatory compliance, governance, conduct, and financial crime frameworks. Her work includes leading large-scale remediation programmes following Skilled Person (s166) reviews, addressing deficiencies across risk management, governance, outsourcing, financial crime controls, and consumer outcomes. She has advised firms through regulatory enforcement risk, supervisory interventions, and post-review remediation, ensuring delivery of defensible, evidence-led outcomes.
Tracey has worked closely with regulators across multiple jurisdictions and has advised boards, executive committees, and senior management on regulatory interpretation, conduct risk, consumer protection, vulnerable customer frameworks, and evidentiary standards. She is frequently engaged to translate evolving legal and regulatory requirements into practical operating models, policies, and controls across both first and second lines of defense.
Her experience spans the design and implementation of compliance, conduct, operational risk, and financial crime frameworks, including enterprise-wide risk assessments, RCSAs, monitoring programmes, management information, and policy governance. She has led complex regulatory change initiatives, supported regulatory license applications, and overseen the compliant launch of new products and services across lending, payments, banking, investment, and crypto markets.
Most recently, Ms. King has served in senior global compliance leadership roles, with responsibility for setting compliance strategy, managing large, geographically distributed teams, and overseeing group-wide AML and financial crime frameworks across regulated and unregulated products and markets. Her responsibilities have included strategic compliance budgeting, resource planning, regulatory assurance, internal investigations, and regulatory reporting.
Earlier in her career, Tracey held senior compliance and financial crime roles within banks, fintechs, consultancies, and regulated financial services firms, including Deputy Head of Compliance and Deputy MLRO positions. She has also provided regulatory assurance during strategic wind-downs and advised firms operating in high-growth and high-change environments.
Ms. King combines deep technical regulatory expertise with strong commercial judgement, supporting firms in navigating complex regulatory challenges while maintaining effective governance, proportionate controls, and sustainable compliance frameworks.
