During her career at BP, Ms. Martin held a range of commercial and strategic roles across LNG, natural gas, distillates, crude oil, refinery planning, and group economics. As LNG Trading Paper Trading Book Leader, she was responsible for the day-to-day management of large financial positions across crude oil, UK, European, and U.S. gas markets, while also supporting LNG pricing decisions and risk management for long-term transactions. She also served as Senior U.S. Natural Gas Financial Trader in Houston, where she was responsible for financial trading and market making in the Southwest U.S. region, consistently exceeding P&L expectations and developing new trading opportunities across U.S. gas spreads.

Ms. Martin’s trading experience also includes physical distillates trading in Northwest Europe, where she led market calls for heating oil, managed BP’s exposure around large asset positions, optimized supply flows for refining and marketing businesses, and helped expand trading options across Europe, Russia, and the Baltics. Earlier in her career, she worked in refinery production planning, crude oil operations, and commercial analysis, gaining hands-on exposure to refinery optimization, product specifications, logistics, contract optionality, and structured finance transactions.

Since leaving BP, Ms. Martin has advised energy companies on a broad range of strategic and commercial matters, including supply and trading strategy, LNG market entry, asset integrations, refinery optimization, midstream transactions, trading performance benchmarking, and organizational processes.

In addition to her advisory work, Ms. Martin serves as a trading expert and lecturer, delivering oil, gas, and LNG trading courses to major global energy companies, including Aramco, Reliance, Rosneft, Exxon, Shell, and others. She has also supported the selection and development of trading talent and has explained complex trading concepts to senior executives and board members. She served as a Non-Executive Director at Crossbridge (ESG Holdings) and as Senior Advisor at Energex Partners Limited.

Ms. Martin holds an MA in Economics and Politics from the University of Edinburgh.
